DECADENCE

An extreme expression of elegance and diversity.

A cultural movement unique in its kind, that’s what the DECADENCE is. It was born as a recurring event but it does not end overnight, indeed: it evolves, expands and regenerates day after day through a network of people who recognize themselves in philosophy that is at its base and they spread it.

Born from the idea to unite under the same project several alternative subcultures and aesthetic trends, that concern different environments and musical genres, after almost 11 years, DECADENCE has become phenomenon of costume tout court, recognized at international level which – for pleasure and necessity – results in meetings, important moments of gathering that shall bring in connection people from all over Europe.

PARTIES, MEETINGS AND SPECIAL EVENTS

Since 2005, the events take place one or more times a month. The format DECADENCE manifests itself in different types of appointments to comply the continues requests of a community that over time has grown to reach important numbers, always eager to meet each others. It should be considered that DECADENCE is unique and has no competitors!. From the parties – covering the basic ingredients as the dress code, the music and the themed scenery- to the meetings themselves characterized by the presence of international guests (live and show) up to the limited edition events, special one shot where people race with the others to obtain the invitation.

In its origins DECADENCE started in Bologna, then went through different italian, european and the most suggestive intrernational locations, like important historical mansions and castles, collecting an incredible success and a involvement of its attendants. DECADENCE involves a cross public, for age, gender and social background. The only true fil rouge is the good manners and mutual respect. Everything is permitted, if it occurs between consenting persons. DECADENCE, extreme expression of elegance and diversity, is a project with goth, fetish and s/m environments, meeting point, electro, gothic and 80 music, art exhibitions, press clippings, dungeon, couples’ room and play areas.

The events host international artists from time to time, concerts, musicians, writers, performances of burlesque and fakirism, body ar performance, body modification and fetish, lessons of bondage and installations of extremely rare videos, on the issues of niche subjects. DECADENCE is collaborating with the most important national and international realities. Unique in its kind, DECADENCE is a movement, an institution, an event among the most important on the planet, where only for a night you can leave the outside world … you can infringe – always with respect for the others – you can hide, or simply feel free to express yourself and move.

DRESSCODE / MOOD

Every event has a theme of clothing recommended or simply in DECADENCE style, so there is always a selection at the entrance, not for elitism or snobbery but to protect the harmony and the fun of the alternative public that attends our meetings and to avoid taunt and unwanted voyerism.

DECADENCE is directed to an adult, mature and consenting public.

There are no spectators, the public, is the protagonist of the event.

Casual clothing is not accepted! For those who still had doubts you can visit our GALLERY to get an idea of the typical and alternative clothing. In any case for those who need it, you can take advantage of a dressing room to change clothes. In addition, frequently you can buy clothing directly inside, thanks to the various clothes and gadget shop that you find at each event.

During the events there are two or more dancs floors:

THE MOVIE, THE TATTOO AND THE SOCIAL CAMPAIGNS

In 2013 DECADENCE reached the big screen thanks to the movie Pan Play Decadence produced by Carlo Valentine, the creator and artistic director DECADENCE, for the direction of John Aloi. Through festivals and film reviews the movie is collecting a huge consensus of critics and the general public, contributing in a capillary manner to get to know the history of this movement.

For many but not all: DECADENCE is forever! The number of participants to the DECADENCE gatherings grows exponentially. And the number of people who, each month, decides to tattoo the Decadence on their skin is impressive, a phenomenon never registered for any other type of event. To learn more click here

DECADENCE is always operating in communication campaigns and activities that relate to the social life, such as the collection of funds and the commitment to spread messages socially useful through its events. These actions are a symptom of a sensitivity that reflects the values of those who participate in these meetings, and are the result of a continuous dialog with the institutions obtaining patronage to our projects.
